Robots developed by IIT Guwahati to be used in Covid-19 wards

Robots will be deployed soon to deliver food and medicine to patients in Covid 19 isolation. Researchers at the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati are developing two robots for this purpose. These robots will also be used in the collection of contagious waste.

According to the team from IIT Guwahati’s Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering departments, the move will reduce human intervention in isolation wards.

IIT G is also setting up an advanced research center and laboratory for Covid-19 analysis, which will cater to the need of the entire Northeastern region.
