How to make your startup pitch deck more effective

The startup pitch deck makes it easier for startup promoters to highlight their startup ideas in front of investors. The deck serves as a visual reference during the presentation. Graphics and charts can enhance the effectiveness of the pitch. Though overdoing it may actually kill it.

A few points can be kept in mind while preparing a startup pitch deck:

  • The 10 / 20 / 30 rule is a very effective concept for making a startup pitch deck more effective. The pitch deck should not be maximum 10 slides long, the maximum duration should be 20 minutes (or the prescribed time allowed for the pitch), and at least 30 point font should be used to write it.
  • Begin your pitch deck with an elevator pitch slide. This should describe your startup and its vision in one or two lines.
  • Include a demo to engage with potential investors.
  • Highlight the market opportunities. Highlight the general market opportunity, the specifics of the target segment, and your target customer.
  • Show the revenue plan i.e. how does your startup plans to make money. Investors want to see numbers. They want concrete proof about the revenue generation opportunities in your idea.
  • Incorporate graphical elements like charts, graphics, or images into your pitch to make it more interesting and catchy.
