Covid 19: IIT Guwahati students develop drone to sanitize large areas
To cope with Civid 19 crisis, a group of students at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati, have developed a sprayer drone. An automated sprayer is attached to the drone to sanitise various places.
The student start-up called “Racerfly” claims it can sanitise an area in less than 15 minutes which otherwise takes more than a day, They have approached the Assam and Uttarakhand governments offering to join the fight against the global pandemic.
The sprayer system can be deployed and operated by one operator. According to the five-member team, the drone can spray two to four litres of disinfectant per minute and can be filled twice for one charge. These drones can be used to record videos as well.
