Government of India Considering Complete Withdrawal of Army From J&K

According to media reports the Government of India is considering withdrawal of the army from Jammu & Kashmir completely. If the decision is finalised, the troops will be present only along the Line of Control (LoC) with Pakistan from where attempts of terrorist infiltration continues.

The reports say that the discussions have been going on for last two years and at an advanced stage now. The Union Ministry of Defence, Union Ministry of Home Affairs, armed forces and the J&K police are involved in this discussion. It is reported that the CRPF would replace Army to maintain both law and order and counter-terror operations in J&K.
